CONFUSED ABOUT LIFE?
Well, so am i.
I was born in Minnesota but I don't think my story really begins until we moved to Sheldon, North Dakota. We moved there when I was 8 years old, moved back to Minnesota until I was 13 when my family moved right back to Sheldon.
I was very lonely out here in the sticks being homeschooled (my family started homeschooling us when I was in 4th grade), and at the time, without any friends, so I wrote a book entitled "Appaloosy" my mom read it and actually thought that I was pretty good. I also had my uncle read it, who was previously an English teacher, and he helped me to clean up the plot and tighten some strings to make it what it is now.
When I was almost 14 I got my first horse, not an Appaloosa stallion but an old Standardbred gelding named Spike. He is about the opposite of the horse named Storm in my book, but I love him anyway and he helps to keep my stories a little more realistic.
I worked at at a place called Ice Cream, Etc. in Enderlin during the summer when I was 15, and finally got enough money to publish it when I was 16.
Now, finally, people (well, a few of them) know who I am and not just who my parents are. I am making new friends and having a ton of fun selling this book. I'm not sure if this is the path I want to follow now. I just have to keep on discovering and trying new things to figure out what I want to do with the rest of my life. I'm still not sure what I want to do when I grow up, but for sure I want to have writing be a part of it.
Don't follow where the path may lead . . . go where there is no path and leave a trail.
